    The National Pan-Hellenic Council of Washington, D.C. (DCNPHC) was formed in September 1930 to unite alumni chapters of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Washington, D.C.

 A few historical highlights are as follows:


​     1930 - National Pan Hellenic Council of Washington D.C. was founded.  

    1979 - Hosted The 50th Annual Convention of the National Pan-Hellenic Council Inc. at the Hyatt Regency in Washington on                             February 14-17, 1979.

    1996 – Presented the First African-American Greek Forum at Howard University’s Blackburn Center on February 10, 1996.

                  A total of 130 people attended the forum.  

    1997 -- President Anthony Hill left office in September 1997 to become the Eastern Province Polemarch of Kappa Alpha Psi

                   Fraternity, Inc.

    1998 – Hosted the 2nd Annual Greek Forum at Howard University’s School of Divinity on November 18, 1998. 

    2003 – Hosted the First D.C. Metro Greek Picnic at Rock Creek Park in June 2003.

    2005 – Hosted the National Pan-Hellenic Council’s 75th Anniversary in May 2005.

    2006 – Hosted the First National Pan-Hellenic Council of Washington, DC Awards Banquet at Republic Gardens on April 9, 2006.

    2012 – Recognized by the NAACP Washington, DC Branch for DCNPHC’s voter registration efforts in support of the

                  NAACP “This is My Vote” campaign. NAACP DC Branch and its partner organizations registered approximately 1,500 voters;

                  DCNPHC registered approximately one third of that number. The recognition was held on December 14, 2012 at the                               African- American Civil War Museum.

    2013 – Hosted the First DCNPHC Community Expo at Cesar Chavez Public Charter Schools for Public Policy – Parkside

                  on May 18, 2013.


    2017 - ​Received the “Outstanding Alumni Council Award” during the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Inc.’s 69th Biennial National                        Leadership Conference (Dallas, TX).


​    2017 – DCNPHC’s Chaplain, Valerie Robinson (Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.) was sworn in as the NPHC’s Chaplain during the National                   Leadership Conference (Dallas, TX).
